19 Husker military veterans march east along O street headed toward Elmwood, Neb. In an effort to raise awareness about veteran suicide, the University of Nebraska Student Veteran Organization has partnered with the University of Iowa Veterans Association to march the ceremonial game ball for next week’s football game from Memorial Stadium in Lincoln 347 miles to Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Ia. The participating veterans are each symbolically carrying 22-pound rucksacks to honor the 22 suicides committed daily by United States military veterans. KRISTIN STREFF, Journal Star
